- I am using a 1228 MB Western Digital Caviar AC31200F 3.5" E-IDE drive
- and have not encountered any problems with it.
-
- Problems eventually arising are caused by my Conner CFA 340A which is a
- really stupid IDE drive. Disconnects on reset if not jumpered
- differently, refuses to work as slave...
-
- If my WDCAC is a single drive, there are no problems at all (it is
- widely known that Conner drives are not very compatible in slave
- recognition if the slave is not a Conner drive). If I need to get it to
- work together with my Conner, Conner is Master, WD is Slave, and I need
- to reboot once after power-up. After any succeeding reset, both drives
- are mounted; on power-up only the slave).
-
-
-
- BRIEFLY: There should be no problems with 1 GB IDE drives in A4000s.
